Welcome to Grace!

Grace is an inviting and diverse Christian community, embracing our Lutheran tradition in ways that are faithful and innovative. ALL are welcome . . . all races, ages, sexes, abilities, sexual orientations, financial circumstances, families, life experiences, ethnicities, gender identities, nationalities, colors . . . everyone!  You'll have to experience it for yourself!
 
Grace Lutheran Church is a proud member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), one of the largest Christian denominations in the United States, which has about 4 million members in nearly 10,000 congregations across the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Worship at Grace is first and foremost, Christ-centered. Worship is the common experience in our community that leads us toward lives of grace. Our sacramental and liturgical worship engages all of our senses and embodies the best of our tradition. We seek to bring all of these values to bear in ways that are inspired and relevant.

Join us for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at Papas & Eggs for conversation and food. This is a great way to deepen your relationships at Grace and build your faith connections for the living of this life. See you there!


 Wednesdays

Life Together

Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 PM (Zoom) | 7-8 PM (In-person)
Creative, fun, and playful approaches promote interaction and encourage the confirmands for an hour to dive deep into their own faith, feelings, and opinions. Interested? Send an email to Pr Friederike!
Wednesdays from 6:15-8 PM
Dinner: $10/person; $25/family; children 12&under eat free | Brown Hall
Much of our life as a church family is focused on Sundays, but there is so much more that happens in our lives that we need to share.
We gather every Wednesday to share our lives and time as we have dinner and gather for music, learning, and discussion. And everyone can come!
Wednesdays from 7-8:30 PM | Youth Room
The foundation of our HS Ministry is our weekly Youth Group that takes place year round. It nurtures faith, builds resilience, and forms well-rounded young people ready for the challenges of this life. We take time to check in with one another, prayer, laugh, play and provide space to breathe, when school and activities are overwhelming. 
Wednesdays from 7-8:30 PM | Sanctuary
Our Chancel Choir, or the “adult choir” is open to any singer of high school age and up. We will sing at the 10:45 service most Sundays. The choir sings a wide variety of music, accompanied and a cappella. We welcome singers of any experience level, from beginners to the most experienced. Contact Tim Getz to learn more.

Thursdays

Thursdays at 10:30 AM | Library/Zoom
Join Pr Matt or Pr Friederike for a Bible Study on the readings for the coming Sunday. This is your chance to get a preview of the coming sermon . . . and perhaps impact it! Bring your Bible and see you there! 
THIRD Thursday at 12:00 PM | Brown Hall
Potluck lunch and a different topic and/or guest speaker every month—a staff member or outside speaker—to inform us about interesting topics, or just enjoy the time we have together.
Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 PM | Sanctuary Praises Ring is the name of Grace’s handbell choir. The bell choir rings in church about one Sunday each month, plus Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday. We’re always looking for a few good ringers! We own a full five-octave (61 note) set of handbells, and ideally need 13 people to make use of the full set. No prior experience with bell ringing is necessary, although some basic music-reading ability is helpful. We’ll teach you all the rest!
FIRST Thursday from 7-9 PM
The women of Grace meet once a month for an evening - and every topic is of interest! And if you want to, you (or a group of women) can be in charge of one meeting: organizing it, determining where it should happen and what we'll do. Everyone who identifies as a woman is welcome! ALL Thursdays, except first 7-8 PM
Are you an adult who has ever thought something like, “I like to sing but my voice isn’t very good,” or “I always wish I had learned how to read music”? NOT CHOIR is the place for you! In this Thursday night class, really a combination of singing and social hour, we relax and have fun learning the basics of congregational singing. We start at the very beginning, starting with the assurance that no-one’s voice is terrible and everyone’s voice is needed! We sing just for the joy of it and try on some basics of vocal production.

Grace Lutheran Church is called to participate in God's life-changing work with our hands, our resources, and our voices. God's love compels us to action that benefits people, communities, and creation from our backyard to all the world. As a congregation, we seek to engage our sisters and brothers of other faith traditions to join us in this work.

Preschool

Grace Lutheran Church and Preschool is called to engage people of all backgrounds through Christ. Each individual's faith journey is nurtured in community through spiritual formation, education, and fellowship. This pilgrimage is undertaken by people of all ages and stages here at Grace and shared with the wider church and world.

Committed to a warm and supportive learning environment, Grace Lutheran Preschool is licensed by the State of California. The children in our preschool are surrounded by a Christian atmosphere of respect and loving appreciation for each person and for the wonders of God’s world.
